The Association for Sustainable Groundwater Protection is suing the Ministry of Environment and Food. The association believes that the state has given municipalities far too broad powers to make restrictions on the use of land in relation to groundwater protection for farmers. Attorney Hans Sønderby explains that the lawsuit against the Ministry of Environment and Food is due to the fact that the country’s municipalities, in his assessment, have been given far too broad a framework to issue restrictions on use, e.g. in the form of spray bans, and that these broad frameworks are therefore unlawful.
